NOTES:  Lighted compact uses 2 "AA" batteries located under the park bench in lower portion and the on/off switch is activated when the set is opened and closed.  There is a variation set (shown here) where there is a little pale green picket fence along the staircase next to the pond.

Notes: 

 To remove the battery cover:  If you curl your hand, then place your thumb against the fence next to the park (the outside left of the battery compartment) and the side of your index finger at the back of the park bench, you can push the back of the park bench toward the center of the compact with the side of your index finger. Lift at the same time and lid will easily come away.
