find your doll, refer to the date on the bottom. Dolls are listed
in the Guide by that date and not the date of the set in which they
belong. If your doll does not have a date, it will be in the
“Undated Dolls” section or another category, i.e., "Babies".
dolls: When Bluebird Toys was active, one could send away for
a "replacement" pack of dolls. In some cases, these dolls
varied from the original. For example, one pack contained
Pixie from the 1990 Hair Salon set. In the original set, Pixie
has a red badge on her right chest. The doll that came in the
replacement pack does not have that red badge. In the doll ID,
both dolls are shown and indicate which came with the replacement
pack and which came with the set. The only difference on most
of these dolls is the unpainted base.
Some dolls have dates but fall within a certain category, e.g.,
dogs. They will not be in the dated doll section but, rather,
in the dog section
and accessories, whether dated or not, are located in their
respective sections (“Animals” or “Accessories”) and not in the
dated doll sections. Please refer to the Index above. The Indexes
in the specific sections will help you narrow your search.

Polly Pocket dolls are intended for a specific set but the 1” dolls

the sets (1998 and later) intended for the taller dolls and
Polly Pocket dolls are dated with a different date than the sets in
which they belong, for example, 1989 Skating Party has dolls dated
1994. It is unknown why this is true but it is believed that
certain compacts were released in a later year and the dolls
manufactured and dated at that time.
