Bluebird Toys used to print delightful little stories on the packaging.  Here is the story for this set:

"Polly's Nursery

It's great fun for the babies Tessa and Tom at the Nursery when Polly comes to spend the day with them!  There's lots of interesting things to do, and Polly loves pushing them in the swing or playing with them on the see-saw.  Playing tea parties in the opening Wendy House is fun too!  After lunch, Polly settles them for a nice nap in their little beds and gently swings them to sleep."

NOTES:

Fun Fact:  The playhouse is called a "Wendy House" and is a term coined by J. M. Barrie in his famous story of Peter Pan!
